Financial Benefits
The EHS process has a number of financial benefits, as follows:
- There are significantly reduced capital costs over alternative waste management methods
- The ongoing plant operation is entirely self-supporting from revenue derived from the gate fee and sale of the waste product, which is a Wood-Plastic Composite (WPC)
- Reduces costs of local authority waste collection
- Significantly reduces development costs and lead time of current waste recycling plants (which still require landfill and add to pollution)
- Reduces current costs of waste management per tonne
- The plant is self-sustaining; thereby ensuring its own ability to provide for all maintenance and upgrading without external input of Capital funds from the States at any time in the future
