Our core principles
EHS is a dynamic company seeking to improve the world that we hand-on to our children and grandchildren by the introduction of recycling technology that drives towards a “zero to be buried or burned” approach, arrived at without any pollution, especially of air and water. We are merely trustees of this planet for generations yet to come and we must uphold our responsibilities in this regard.
The Waste Hierarchy
The Waste Hierarchy is set out by the E.U. and imposed by the UK Government through the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
Zero to be Burned or Buried
Our approach seeks to:
- Dispose of Nothing
- Waste Nothing
- Destroy Nothing (except harmful bacteria)
In particular, we advocate that no matter is destroyed or put out of re-use. Our processes separate and recover all material that can be re-sold as raw materials, then prepares the material for conversion of the residue into new materials.
Standards
We always seek to exceed the Best Practical Environmental Option (BPEO) and to adopt the EU standards, as minimum criteria.
